Goals:
- Share code with eBay's Fashion app - reuse Search Results layout, Detail view
- Create a unique customized part finder in Search results for specifc parts for enthusiasts.
The eBay Motors app provided a way for car-enthusiasts to be able to quickly find parts for their cars as well as be part of an auto community.
Features included a robust fitment part finder as well as a community "Garage"gallery forum where members could discuss their passion for all things car-related.
The result: eBay Motors became a 5-star rated app from 3.5 and was downloaded 1M times. It generated $2M in sales. It shared the codebase with eBay Fashion and provided the ability for customers to download once on all devices.
